This week Mrs Fielder, Miss Lloyd and Mr Tidey had the pleasure of accompanying our choir to the 02 Arena in London. After months of preparation, the children were ready to join with the world’s largest childrens choir for a magical evening's entertainment at the 02 Arena.
Upon arriving in the London, the children were in awe and wonder at their first sight of the 02 and the incredible architecture of the buildings surround the arena. We quickly found our way into the arena and took our seats ready for the afternoon rehearsal to start.
Over the course of the afternoon the children rehearsed singing with all 8600 other children in the bowl. During this time, the children were introduced to the different celebrities that would be singing with them. This included MC Grammar, Tommy Blaize and Souparnika Nair. They also got to meet the founder of Urban Strides, Andy, and his dance crew. This was a highlight for many as Andy had been helping them prepare for the concert via the online resources in school.
Following the rehearsal, they were concert ready and raring to go! After no time at all the doors to the 02 opened and families started pouring in to their seats ready to be immersed in a world of wonder for the evening. During this time the children had great fun in trying to spot their adults in the crowd. It didn’t take long to find them all and we all had much fun waving and cheering out to them all.
At 7pm arrived, the lights dimmed and the show began – and what a show it was!
We could not be prouder of our children for having worked so hard to learn the songs, for representing the school in the most wonderful way and for taking part in an experience that they will carry with them forever.
We are now already on the countdown for Young Voices 2026! We can’t wait to visit again and make for memories to last a lifetime.
